Recently, I took on a shoot that was very personal to me and also a little more intense than my usual shoots.I wanted to express the feeling of the spread of depression through a physical interpretation. Depression is a topic that isn't talked about as much as it should be, even sometimes treated as taboo. But why? Why would we not discuss a condition that impacts thousands of people and breaks them down to the point where they feel they cannot function? Why do we avoid educating people on how to spot the signs of depression to help their friends and family suffering from it?
I suffered for many years from depression with nobody spotting the warning signs. Nobody realized I was simply reaching out her help because of all the pain I was feeling. My goal with this shoot was to educate and bring awareness to this topic so nobody else has to suffer in the way that I did and have. Please share this message this month as part of Suicide Prevention month. Don't let any more lives be lost due to ignorance and avoidance.
